Université Catholique de Lille: Lille European Summer Program (ESP)

The European Summer Program is a four-week academic course for international students who want to discover France and Europe. It has taken place in June and July every year since 2001, in Lille, in the north of France, welcoming students (and instructors) from around the world to the Université Catholique de Lille, at the heart of Europe.

UCL ESP 2018 9The LILLE European Summer Program (ESP) is your chance to experience French culture firsthand and be part of an international, multicultural student community. Our LILLE ESP is tailored to suit your objectives and challenges, while balancing educational and social activities. Students can choose from a large variety of electives, most including an important Intercultural Communication component.

Whatever options you choose, get ready for an academic challenge and a human experience thanks to interactive and diversified teaching methods, hands-on activities and site visits.

We’ve got you covered! The program has been designed as a full package including a large variety of academic courses, accommodation, meal and transportation passes, extra-curricular activities, and 24/7 personalized assistance and support.

In your ESP package: Tuition and administration fees + Accommodation in single rooms in fully equipped residence halls + Orientation program + Meal pass for our cafeteria + Public transportation pass + Access to university facilities + Fieldtrips to Bruges and Brussels + 5 group dinners including an international soirée + Movie nights + Information kit on cultural, sport, and social activities.

Health and Travel Insurance coverage is mandatory. Students under 25 can have coverage through the Université Catholique de Lille. + 75€.

UCL ESP optional visits

Optional fieldtrips and weekends
We want you to make the most of your time in Lille, and have designed a series of fieldtrips and extra-curricular activities that will take you to some of the most emblematic cultural and historic places in France and Europe.

- Visit World War I trenches, battlefields, and memorials on the Western Front (transportation, dinner and museums admission fees) + 75€
- Weekend in Normandy (D-Day Beaches) and Brittany’s famous Mont-Saint-Michel (transportation, 1 night in a hotel, breakfast and dinner) + 250€
- Weekend in Paris (transportation, 1 night in a hotel in a central location, breakfast, boat cruise on the Seine, metro pass) + 200 €
- Amiens and its medieval Cathedral (transportation and guided tour) + 50€

Available in ESP2 only
- Weekend in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (transportation, 1 night in a hostel or in a 4**** hotel and breakfast, access to public transportation) +250€ to +350€
